Qurbani
Our Qurbani program goes beyond simply providing meat; it’s a commitment to delivering dignity, nourishment, and hope to Afghan families facing unimaginable hardship. Qurbani efforts not only fulfill the religious obligation but also help alleviate hunger in our communities. Since we began our Qurbani initiatives, the Afghan Aid Foundation has been able to provide thousands of families with fresh, high-quality meat during the holy season—a meal that would otherwise be a rare luxury for many. The impact is particularly profound among widowed mothers, orphaned children, elderly individuals, refugees, and those living with disabilities, for whom even basic daily nutrition can be a constant struggle. therefore, each year, we facilitate the purchase, sacrifice, and distribution of livestock, ensuring that families receive fresh meat to share with their loved ones.
In the past year alone, we have distributed meat to over 5,000 families, providing nourishment and fostering a sense of community and solidarity during this special time. By prioritizing local sourcing, we also support local farmers and stimulate the local economy.
In addition to the humanitarian aspect, we prioritize supporting Afghan communities economically by sourcing livestock from local farmers. This not only benefits those receiving Qurbani meat but also uplifts regional economies, creating a cycle of compassion and self-reliance that brings stability to communities beyond the holy season.
